What You Need to Know

Installation space:

1.Are the rope and pulleys provided for the suspensions or do we take care of it?

The PQ exhibit will be providing the ropes and pulleys

2.Are the ice blocks made from plexiglass only? Will there also be "real" ice?

Can there be real water inside the suspensions?

If you/your school intends to use “real” ice or water this is possible, however please inform the curators so accommodations can be made for any melting/liquid.

3. How many suspensions can be submitted per school? One per school? One per student? One per cohort?

This will depend on how many schools are participating. More details to come after November 15, 2023

4.Is there a maximum weight for the suspensions? Is there a maximum size?

5 lbs 1’x1’x3’

5. Will the counterweight system be installed on site or before arrival in Prague?

Installation of the suspensions and the counterweight system will take place on site during our setup days in Prague.

For the costumes / characters:

1.Dimensions of the miniatures? Do the figurines have to have a precise scale? Will the school miniatures have to be identical or are there a variety of shapes and sizes?

12-20”, please make them a variety of sizes. Please keep in mind this is an outdoor exhibit and sun, wind and rain can affect your miniatures, as well as the suspensions.

The figurines will be secured for the entire festival to ensure the safety of the exhibit.

2.Each school will make its own miniatures or a standard will be proposed / provided? Chaque école fera ses propres figurines ou un standard sera proposé / fourn?

You/the school will have to provide your own figurine.

3.Are we required to build the 3D figurine and the life size costume?

No this is not necessary. A costume can also be created that isn’t in figurine form or part of the exhibit.

4. Will we be completing the exhibition on site? Aspect mécanique de l’expo (poids / contre-poid), est-ce que ça se valide sur place au moment de l’installation ?

Yes, installation to be completed on site in the Prague Market.
